FAQ

Short answers about your domain.

The one thing people most often assume is in the plan, and is not: the domain name. You register it. You pay the registrar. We connect it.

Your domain

Who pays for the name.

Is a domain name included?

No, and that's deliberate. You register your domain (yourbusiness.com) in your own name, with your own registrar, and pay them directly. We recommend Cloudflare, which charges cost price (about $10–11/yr for a .com), but GoDaddy or any other registrar works. Your RavenPower plan covers connecting it, DNS setup, SSL, and hosting. It never includes the domain registration or its renewal.

I don't have a domain yet. What do I do?

Leave the domain field blank at signup. On day one we'll help you choose a name and walk you through buying it in your own Cloudflare account, which takes about ten minutes. Then you give us access to its DNS and we handle the rest.

Why don't you just buy it for me?

Because whoever buys a domain legally holds it. Keeping it in your name means you can repoint it, keep your email, or leave us at any time without asking our permission.

What happens to my domain if I cancel?

Nothing. Your site goes offline at the end of your billing period, but the domain stays registered to you and keeps renewing on your registrar bill. Point it anywhere you like.
